The information that is passed from QuickBooks to mHelpDesk is:
1. Customers
2. Items & Services List
3. Sales Tax
4. Customer Terms
5. Customer Types
Once synced up, mHelpDesk will pass the above information into QuickBooks along with:
1. Invoices
2. Estimates
3. Payments
When syncing QuickBooks with mHelpDesk, follow below to see where the information listed above maps to inside of mHelpDesk.
Customers
Customers inside of QuickBooks will be imported into the Customers Tab inside of mHelpDesk. Below is a screenshot of where you can find Customers in mHelpDesk and QuickBooks:
****Important information regarding mHelpDesk Service Locations/Sub Customers and QuickBooks Jobs****
Some customers may have multiple locations that need to be tracked in both mHelpDesk AND QuickBooks. In mHelpDesk these locations are called "Service Locations" where as in QuickBooks they are referred to as "Jobs." To see how it looks in each account, view the screenshot below:
When importing a Customer List if a customer has a separate billing and shipping address, only the billing address will be imported into mHelpDesk. Screenshot ( ) shows on the right side what it looks like in QuickBooks and on the left side what it looks like in mHelpDesk.
If a Service Location (Job in QuickBooks) has a different billing address than the parent customer then the service location will be marked as Bill to this service location. Screenshot ( ) shows what looks it like in QuickBooks on the left, and mHelpDesk on the right.
When Service Locations have the same billing address as the parent customer but a different shipping address , the shipping address will import as the Service Locations address and be marked as Bill to Customer in mHelpDesk. 2. Price List/Items and Services
In QuickBooks, the "Items and Services" list will be imported to the "Price List" section in mHelpDesk. Both QuickBooks and mHelpDesk use the term Subitems, which are items nested under a parent item. These items are imported into mHelpDesk as subitems as seen in screenshot ( )
3. Sales Tax
Both mHelpDesk and QuickBooks can store multiple sales taxes. In Quick Books make sure Sales taxes are enabled by going to Edit > Preferences > Sales Tax > Company Preferences. In mHelpDesk Sales Taxes are held in Settings > Sales Tax Items. Screenshot ( ) shows an example of each.
4. Customer Terms
Both mHelpDesk and QuickBooks use the term "Customer Terms" To access this list in QuickBooks go to Lists > Customer & Vendor Profile List > Customer Terms
To navigate where the Customer Terms are in mHelpDesk, simple click Settings > Customer Terms. View Screenshot ( ) to see how it looks with QuickBooks on the right and mHelpDesk on the left.
5. Customer Types
mHelpDesk and QuickBooks again use the same terminology for Customer Types. To find Customer Types in mHelpDesk simply navigate to Setting > Customer Types (located under lists).
For QuickBooks, navigate to Lists > Customer & Vendor Profile List > Customer Types. Take a look at Screenshot ( ) to see how the lists look with mHelpDesk on the left, and QuickBooks on the right.
When exporting from mHelpDesk to QuickBooks, the above information will be sent to QuickBooks through Estimates, Invoices, and Payments made inside of mHelpDesk.
To see where this information is help in both mHelpDesk and QuickBooks, follow below:
1. Estimates
To find estimates in mHelpDesk, use the Left Navigation panel and click Estimates.

2. Invoices
To find invoices in mHelpDesk, use the Left Navigation panel and click Invoices.

3. Payments
To find all payments in mHelpDesk, use the Left Navigation panel and click Payments.
In QuickBooks, the payments are located on the home page. See Screenshot ( ) to see how it looks in mHelpDesk on the left and QuickBooks on the right.
In mHelpDesk, payments are also listed in the payment tabs next to the invoice.
In QuickBooks, payments are similarly listed in "History" next to the invoice.
****Please Note: In mHelpDesk : A separate payment number is generated. In QuickBooks, the payment is associated with the invoice Number.****
